Directions & Payment
In the booking stage of planning the funeral, two items will be discussed: Where we will be meeting and how to make the payment.
The meeting place differs depending upon where we have planned the ceremony. We will always meet a designated location at least 15 minutes before the boat leaves the dock. It will be very important for me to have a cell number where you can be reached just prior to your arrival. Also, it will be very important for you and those attending to arrive early and for you to call me just prior tom your arrival. We will meet with you then walk you to the boat. Please keep your party together (There are restrooms on the boat) so that we can board on time. It is very important that you plan your arrival time to give you and your party ample time to do whatever you need to do prior to our arranged meeting time. Plan for traffic. We need to leave on time so that no one will feel ‘pressured’ or ‘rushed’ in any way. There also may be a funeral after yours which we must keep from being impacted.
The payment can be made by clicking on the Yellow button called 'Donate'. PayPal takes your credit card information then notifies me immediately. Your timely payment secures and completes your reservation. If you so desire, I can email you a confirmation or give you a receipt after the funeral.
*We incur many expenses on your behalf once you have booked your reservation. Remember, you have made a donation to a non-profit organization.
As with other non-profits, we have operational expenses. Thus, should you wish to cancel, there is a cancellation fee of $195 plus the charges to us by PayPal, our bank, The City of Long Beach ( 8% tax ), and the Captain. We will issue you a check in a very short time.
Meeting places:
In Long Beach and San Pedro we meet at the carousel in the parking lot of Shoreline Village, Long Beach. As you enter the parking lot, it is the first blue building on your right: Park right there. Wait for us at the furniture with the yellow and blue awnings. Call when you arrive and please do not leave to find a restroom, restaurant, or coffee shop. There is a restroom on the boat and we need to leave on time.
We will walk up from the boat to greet you then walk down to the boat together. The boat is right there is about a 2 minute walk. The address is: 411 Shoreline Village Drive Long Beach, CA 90802
In Newport Beach, we meet at a prearranged location discussed on the phone.
In Catalina, I will be picking you up on the right side as you walk out of the Green Pleasure Pier or a one of the small docks next to where the Catalina Flyer and Express dock their boats. We need to load and unload quickly for the time is limited by the Harbor Department.
Sometimes, we may be picking you up in a special place that has been previously arranged such as a Yacht Club or private dock.
We believe so strongly in honesty, transparency, and in giving. We are a non-profit public benefit charitable trust located in Long Beach, California
For the State of California, the Secretary of State and Attorney General, Department of Justice, and Department of Consumer Affairs have awarded a non-profit, public benefit, charitable trust designation to The Last Watch Foundation to provide funeral services to help the Military and their families. We are the only organization in the United States to be awarded this honor. The State has also given us license to perform the scattering of ashes at sea. If a donation to The Last Watch is ever received, those funds are deposited directly into The Last Watch Foundation.
